Description

This image was done strictly for fun. Reminiscent of the little figures we drew in school as children. It seemed appropriate to post this on the day of a full moon as there really does seem to be a correlation. It seems that often I see posts from artists who are upset over nasty comments from other members or cruel and unwarranted criticisms. I ask that each of us try to think, just for a minute, before we make comments. First, remember that this is a global community and many languages are spoken here. Try to take comments in the spirit they are given. If it's obvious that someone does not speak the same language as you, try a little tolerance and appreciate that even though a word or two might be wrong--that person probably made a real effort to comment in your language. Try to appreciate that effort; not criticize. Second, for probably 98% of us, Poser is a hobby. Though it might take all our time and all our money--it is still a hobby; a way to express ourselves; not a way to the Art Charts. Everyone should be able to enjoy their hobby to the fullest. Remember what you learned as a child: "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" Many of the artists are new and developing and need encouragement. If their lighting needs improvement, offer suggestions if you know a better way. Telling them it looks like garbage or criticizing without offering suggestions of how they might improve is neither helpful nor flattering to the person making the comment. It does NOT make you look important or professional! Wild accusations from one artist to another doesn't make us look any better or more intelligent, either. Renderosity has a full staff and if something isn't done exactly right, I'm sure they will find it without any help from the members. Do we really need more "internet cops"? Let's all try to make more nice comments, be more helpful and do what we can to encourage our new artists. It is only with our help that they will improve and who knows? You just might make a really good friend! Background from Free Stock Xchange Character is "Sinead" by Valentin3D Eyes by Tivao Charlotta Hair by SWAM Fence by Sam's 3D

Great image! Her expression and eyes are wonderfully done. Your images are always a treat for me. I dont use poser at all but look forward to yur posts eagerly, as each of them has such character. Your comments on comments is very well stated. So far i have been lucky. I am one of the new artists you speak of, and so far while i dont get generally get many comments the ones i have got are all positive. Those positive comments are the biggest reason i keep striving to learn. Your comments on my works have always been uplifting and i appreciate them tremendously.

I totally agree with everything you say on this one!! Poser is a hobby for me 2 but one i get great enjoyment from and i am sure that is the case for everyone else. The last thing they need is for someone to come along and spoil that enjoyment by being harsh. well said :O)

I have to add that some of the artists here are children or elderly people stuck at home and poser is their only way of keeping occupied. Very cool image Maxine, i used to draw them myself.

I think your commentary is 100% bang on. I myself do not do Poser pics, my main venue is fractals. I have to say i was drawn to check your gallery due to the wonderful comments i have seen you post on a young artist i have been following the progress of. I see she already posted here so i don't have to worry about her seeing this. The type of comments i have seen you post on Maria4scott's gallery are a prime example of how we here can lift up each other. By the way this render is very cute and like someone else said a huge improvement on what we used to draw in school. Thank you for speaking out on a topic that needs addressing.
