This is my first contact so my belated welcome to Rendo. Apo has become a very different creature since I used it, and this characterises some of the differences. The picture has a clarity and the colours are enabled to talk in their own right. I'm unsure of the type of comment you prefer so I'll try my sometimes bull-like approach. I gain a feeling of oppression stemming from the upper part of the picture and I would have been tempted to cut the top and almost down to the upper tip of the golden star. Try it and see what you think. Your central star then moves into a less stressful position and the composition as a whole loses that centrality and becomes lively with the various shapes seeming to gain a greater say. The composition becomes gentler. I'm talking rubbish, of course, but possibly useful if it does nothing more than for you to review and reaffirm.

Thanks for your input Cliff - I thought the plain, dark parts you refer to gave a bit of contrast to all the textured parts and I wanted the composition to be striking rather than gentle - but thank you very much for your input - it's always good to hear how other people see things and I'm always glad to have interesting critique.
