We call this black bee a carpenter bee. They are very large but overall docile. Great shot and wonderful honeysuckle. :-)

I love the smell (and taste) of honeysuckle too. That big bumbler has the right idea! :)

Aaaaah.. I remember the tall ( hedges almost ) dense stands of honeysuckle and their slow flying giant black bees from Funegirola last year, next to Torreblanca railway station. There was something called the sun as well, if my memory serves me right. There was a wee bit of sunshine this morning, just before a big funeral, and then it got cold and wet gain. This resulted in a lot of bees ( who looked dead to me ) on the pavement, providing obstacles for this summer's ever present ants. It felt like snow this afternoon. Plenty of good Scottish summer weather. If Scotland gives its surplus water to Espana, do you think we 'peely-wally' Caledonii could get freee holidays on the Costas, in return? ;o) Regards, John.

No es extraño ver que la "madreselva" siempre está plagada de abejas, es tan dulce ! Super Rozanne.
