Description

Captured 7/28/07 around 7:10 AM, off the back end bumper of a Ford F-150, about a mile from my residence. Am dedicating this to Jocko500, who inspired the title through his inclusion of the skeletal figure in his many unique Bryce and photographic creations. Am also appreciative of Jock's dedication, jeopardizing life and limb through flaming immolation, just to bring us daily viewing entertainment. Anyway, as many of you have already surmised, those are my distorted reflections on the chrome tow hitch, which spans probably just a couple of inches in diameter. The reflections are all over the skull -- on the forehead, over the eyes, on the jaw, even one on several of the smiling teeth. It took two trips for a satisfactory capture. The first attempt looked pretty good at first, but when viewed on the computer monitor, subtle dirt spots were detected, which was unacceptable, so I returned to the truck a week later, wiped the skull clean, and repeated the photo process. It took about three shots, looking down at my rotatable LCD screen, to acquire a close to exact POV image. All this, plus my possible discovery by the paranoid populace in the neighborhood, made for an interesting adventure. Thanks for the visit, and Happy Hump Day!

Ya know, from the reflection here I got to say you really do seem to resemble those avatars...tall, long legs, long arms, slight build... what's the word???? Gangly. LOL I love this shot. The gleam of the metal and the red eyes and nose fixed so nicely on the viewer. And to be replicated over and over like that! Wow. Good job. Hey, I'll let you take reflective shots on the finish of my nifty Ford Escort...bumpers, door panels, hood, hub caps, etc. You might have to take a rag and clean it up a bit to get rid of the dirt... aww, heck, for you, I'll even let you use my hose, bucket and soap. How's that? :-)

Superb!! I love the tow bar/hitch itself... perfectly shiny (thanks to you!) and rather sinister looking but I got really excited that I thought I might even be able to get a glimpse of your face if opened to full size but no..... this is full size!!! Great capture and well worth the second visit. xx

Well Helllllllloooooooo, Harry! It's nice to see you, even reflected in a chrome skull! I really like all the reflections in this. The result was certainly worth all the trouble you went to for us! I'm so glad you chose this method of honoring Jocko, rather than setting yourself on fire.

I'd have to say the skulls are in your favor ol boy. The reflection shows you as a hip twenty something trendsetter. Awesome looking hitch, and a great shot. Nice work!!

My neighbor in camp had one of these on his truck. He also had luminous versions on his tryke. Your efforts are appreciated.
