A still from an animation we did at EffectDesign (www.effectsf.com) for the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in Seattle. Modeled in Maya and Max and comped with Shake and after effects. We used Final Render for our output in Max.

Nice job. Clever idea rejiggering familiar elements from the flick to make sure folks know this was uyour work and not a frame swipe. One thing-- anyone else ever wonder about the anonymous Asian actress whose face is one of the unoffical icons of the flick? All she does is smile and pop a small pill but something about her makes her appear over and over again!

That's so cool! One of my favorite movies ever, and you've re-created it perfectly.

Blade Runner is in my top ten films, so i cannot resist commenting when i see work related to the film. The depth of the image is captured well, potraying that mix of modern technological metropolis Los Angeles with urban grungy Eastern influence. Very claustrophobic, so i like that. There are alot of recognizable buildings from the film that have been modeled well, but the police headquarters is far to small. I do not like the proportions of the image. For me Blade Runner should be split into two distinct levels, the ground and the sky (skyline, skyscrapers) and in my opinion i feel it would work better if you focused on one of them. For instance if the camera is focused on the two people meeting on the building roof you will not be able to see the ground from rooftop level, because the atmosphere is so dark and polluted, but that is my opinion. What i like about Blade Runner the most is that dystopian, cyber punk, the low life and high tech feel, sort of noir feel, with lots of dark imagery, strong contrasts and smokey polluted atmospheres. I would of prefered this image if the sky was black and the buildings, ship lights could be brought out more, so the atmosphere felt darker. However for building this image from scratch i think you have done quite a good job, or were any of these models from Sci-Fi 3d, because they look very similiar some of them?

You've definitely captured the Blade Runner vibe here and done so quite adeptly. This is a gorgeous scene with lots of great details that are only enhanced by the POV. A+
