Description

Mackay Aerospace Industries are proud to announce the upgraded model of the MAI 34 atmospheric single seater scout. Powered by the well proven Stellar Engineering GmbH 9800 XL ion engine, it is an effective low cost alternative to VTOL scouts when exploring worlds with an atmosphere between 0.75 and 2.00 standard Terran atmospheres. At a third of the operating cost of VTOL equivalents and a full environmental sealed cockpit with unrivalled visibility, the MAI 34 represents a sound business decision and offers an impressive and unique flying experience. Mackay Aerospace Industries has designed and developed the MAI 34 multi-role scout for optimum effectiveness, performance and safety in low level observation tasks. The MAI 34 concept provides the ability to reliably gather environmental and geographic information while giving optimum situational awareness for the pilot. The large fuselage structure and configuration enable ease of fitment of a wide range of sensors and equipment for specialist operations. The dismantled craft and all support equipment is designed to fit within a standard large interstellar shipping container. General assembly time on site is 7 standard hours with a support crew of 4. The MAI 30 series scouts are proven in the harshest operating conditions with over 500 in service with a range of operators. You too can boost the success of your exploration of new worlds using our proven technology. Please contact Mackay Aerospace Industries direct to discuss your special operational requirements and to place an order today. ……….. This image has been a great learning curve for me. Using Blender is an interesting exercise in frustration trying to get a handle on the interface. But that being said, it is a very powerful bit of software and being free, I suppose one should not bitch too much about it. My atmospheric scout craft’s object is a bit of a mess as an object for importing into other applications. I keep getting an error trying to import it into Vue so decided to use Poser 5 and had no issues with Poser. For me, this has been a tutorial type exercise. In hindsight, it would had been much less painful to do a much more simpler object as a starting point, but I couldn’t help myself. I now can use UV Mapper and create a simple texture, but I need much more practice. Also have figured out how to put image maps on objects in Poser so quite happy. The flier object is much too crappy to inflict on my fellow artists, but my next goal is to create a basic futuristic ultralite as a free object. If that works and people enjoy it, then I might look at creating items for sale. As you may guess, they will most likely be aviation related ;P The main thing about this, is that I have gained a whole new level of respect for all the people who create objects for sale and also in the free stuff section. I take my hat off to you all for your fantastic creations. Credits: Pilot is Victoria 3 with helmet and jumpsuit from Moon over Saturn by DAZ3D Scenery is Morph Mountain by GeorgeD and this is a great tool for quick terrain in Poser. Have a great weekend, everyone :)

Very cool, looks like you're off to a great start. I'm still trying to get my head around UV maps and the like, they can be a real pain for sure!
