Description

These roses were thoughtfully grown and tended, just for you, by one of my neighbors. While taking shots of this particular rose bush, I discovered the afore-mentioned neighbor crouching nearby. He appeared to be weeding an adjacent flower bed. I hadn't seen him there when I waltzed into his yard to check out the flowers. Pointing my camera at a rose to check the shot, I suddenly saw something large move in my camera's little magic window! Imagine my surprise when I jerked back and saw that there was a person right there! I believe he thought I was trying to take his picture serrupticiously through the rose bush. In reality, the fellow was in my way! We chatted for a while, and while he seemed bemused by my activities, he did appear to lose his suspicions and begin to see me as a harmless eccentric. They can believe anything they want, as long as they let me wander around in their yards taking pictures! DOES that make me eccentric??? :)

Yup, it definitely is cernuous! It's also a fabulous photo of a very red rose...........at which I have repeatedly failed miserably! My reds all seem to bleed...........but this is stunnning!

Well, I don't think that makes you eccentric, and it certainly doesn't make you cernuous, but as a friend, I will defend your right to be eccentric for any number of other reasons. As far as the photo goes, I like it a lot. The DOF is deep enough to capture everything important, and the colors are gorgeous.

I always tell folks I'm not crazy, I'm just eccentric. For me, that's a complement. I am always getting caught in strange yards. Some encounters with owners are good and some of them aren't so good. Looks as if yours was well worth it. Lovely rose.

If you're eccentric I don't know what that makes me! A nutcase, I would think, with the things I get up to just to take a photo! A stunning shot of this very beautiful flower. Well done, Tara!!

Yes, it is a senuous rose! You did an elegant detailing job of capturing the neato lighting, shadows, and texture contrasts in this lovely macro of a normally difficult to photograph red rose. As for being considered eccentric, at least in the area of street photography, I could write a book on the confrontations I've evoked by carrying a camera. In my daily excursions in quest of subject matter, I've been challenged by auto, animal, business, property, resident, and gas station owners, plus the military. Ironically, I've never been challenged by law enforcement after all these years of meandering thru the nooks and crannies of the city. Otherwise, I'm considered weird and suspicious by what I term a paranoid populace. I was even labeled as such by one home owner when I wanted to photo her dogs. To them, anyone with a camera has no other agenda than to steal, destroy or vandalize. Hence, I wish I was considered merely eccentric and no threat to anyone or anything.
