Hello to you all!
Todays offering has been seen before in "The Hunters Edge" but this time I've tried to capture a different aspect of its character.
No postwork except cropping and framing.
Many thanks for taking the time to view and/or comment on my previous upload.
Hope you have had a good week and that you will have a splendid weekend!

Always amazes me that we can sense shape and texture from such small amount of light. Excellent work.

The lighting adds to the mystery and the ancient feel here. Great work!

A truly beautiful depiction of the Snowflake-like obsidian gem! Very uniquely shaped and very well composed. The dark background brings out the shadows and the properties very brilliantly, and give it a very magical mood. The properties of the obsidian are many, and a very powerful gem as well. Very beautiful lighting! Mark, you have done tremendous justice to one of the most beautiful minerals out there! Fabulous work!

My first thought was to see a little more lighting on it and then I asked myself why. Why not only show minimal amounts of the object, given that we know what it is and that only a little light allows us to focus on the edge. You win! Thank you for sharing. egmont

I had a big chunk of obsidian in my home for years since I visited Armenia... it was sitting somewhere on my shelf until I found it and decided to crash it with a hammer (I was 15 at the time)... what do you know... they used to do it when they still lived in the caves!
