Description
Why is it hard
To let an angel fly away?
Why does it hurt?
To watch it spread its wings
And soar freely?
Could it be
Because the world is such a dreary place
With out an angel
Full of grace?
Could it be
Because we're poorer and uglier
Without the ecstatic beauty
Unfolding so godly?
Could it be
Because we've lost the goodness and the joy
That enveloped
The world where an angel lived?
Be it so, it is our wrong
To selfishly hold to an angel
But God will look upon us mercifully
And entrust our small world to that angel.
From up above
Smile gently to us
Bring us the hope
All is not lost.

These days we mourn two great losses; His Holiness Teoctist, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church and Florian Pittis, actor, musician, composer, director, humanist. There are two angels more in heaven, and a drearier world down here.
