Description

Rain, relentless, in the poets head Droplets, like tears, his second skin Thunder rolls, of uninvited awareness In the valley of ill-begotten dreams He walks, withdrawn And often silent, Save his own gutteral cry Unleashed, against wind's pale breast, Beknownst truly, only unto himself, Steeped, yet seeking refuge, From the soul-ravage Of earthly injustices Lightning strikes, those nearest him (And who amongst them will say It never strikes twice?) Small creatures' pads sense Ever-present microshocks, And run, for wisely chosen cover, An ache for self-protection, In parting, he weeps But, the poet never rests As long as breath is his He walks, his stepmillion miles, Amidst mind-paths, unravelling His senses disallowing shelter, The eternally brewing storm, Within NCM 2007

Beautiful poetry and image to fit. It always wakes up a lttle green jealous being inside me when I read others poertry, because I would so very much be able to do it myself(we have a lot of poets in my family) I comfort myself though, by saying that my images are my poetry, and that's not a bad thing. LOL

The Poets always revealed in the light of their own poems: from darkness to light, the colors between, but never the absolutes reached: as ever deeper unveiling, baring the soul, naked... Nice poetry Gaia Driel...

This is so beautiful and powerful.... If one recognizes the emotions and feel them creeping inside the soul, then what more could a poem aim for. I'm seriously impressed....

I'm running out of superlatives - so I'll stick to plain words. I can relate completely and I thoroughly enjoyed the read. Mike
