I remember doing almost this exact same thing when I was a kid, and the consequences were (fortunately) only a couple of scrapes and bruises. I learned a valuable lesson, though: Use a bigger kite!

Twas I who tried to fly (sort of):-) My brother was the youngest so all the experiments were up to me:-) Thank heaven grans porch wasn't very high, I tied a sheet around like a cape and jumped off, lol, hit the ground like a ton of bricks! My bedroom as a child had a window that opened to the roof over the garage. I used to love going out on the roof, but I was never tempted to fly off of it. lol. My sister and I were dancing to a Cowsills' song called "We Can Fly" My dad hit the light switch which turned off the record player (this was a looong time ago), so that they sang, "We can flyyyyyyyyyyyyy" (imagine the 'y's taking a nose dive to the bottom of the page.) I imagine that this is what our intrepid adventurer will soon be saying. But enough lallygagging, this is a wonderful image. Lovely poses and expressions. Beautiful composition and light. I like the fog on the mountains. You have set a wonderful scene. I can imagine the boys making the kite, a light going on in their heads, grabbing the ladder, and heading up on to the roof. I think the girl must have a room that looks off onto the roof and she looked out and was horrified. Now she is telling her brother, "Listen to me! This is crazy. You are going to be hurt!" But the light of adventure is in his eyes, his friend is cheering him on, and he is invincible. Your expressions for the three children are perfect. This definitely gave me a smile, as did looking at Ludy's adorable granddaughters. Excellent image and dedication.
