My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

Gorgeous comparisons. I like both, but the desaturation really sets off the bloom. Excellent capture. Bunny

Richardphotos

sharky_
Both are equally beautiful. Excellent work. Aloha

Fantastic in B&W or in color, awesome image!!!
OldHippieKeyboard
Both are beautiful. The 2nd shows off the beautiful complexity of color in this flower, while the B/W version, IMHO, looks more romantic. Excellent capture, Tara.

Oh, WWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. The red shows reds, pinks, yellow, oranges...........absolutely gorgeous, and the black and white seems so emphasise the tissue quality of those delicate petals. Both are quite wonderful! 5***** for each! Brava

I'm glad you chose to show both, they each have a beauty all to themselves!! excellent!!!!!

Both views have there advantages. I like them.
Cosine
Both are nice, but whenever I see a comparison like this I always pick the one with color. It's a good thing I don't need to make a living as a B&W photographer LOL.
olivier158
nice pic and well composed ! about the BW, may be you could enhance the treatment to preserve the transparency and the softness of the flower...
fredster66
Very nice... both versions! Excellent!

Well, Libras can't ever decide either :o) love 'em both !!! ~ Hugs ~

Great combo this morning TT. Adds interest to the eye to include both. Love that orange/coral for Monday. I find black and white harder than color to achieve. Have you found that? Have a wonderful day my friend Hugs :)

This is one of the few times I will say that I like the b/w better than the color. It comes across very well with good strong contrast. Excellent.
Fred255
Very good like both versions, but the colour one is the best! Well done!
moochagoo
Quite good idea. Bravo !

Not all picture translates into B&W but this one does and I like the B&W one. For the same reason PJ taked about. Plus the fact that I love B&W photography.lol
goodoleboy
I like them equally well. The black and white for its POV, contrast, clarity, lighting and petal swirls; the bottom photo for the same qualities, plus the lovely colors. Superlative capture, Tara!
rockstrider
Both are very beautiful Tara because you have captured it so well! I think that the b/w emphasises how delicate and fragile those petals are, while the colour version........well, what superb and gorgeous colour it is! Great work!!
