Description

After a short way down a small hall…they arrived. The room spanned out in front of them; so large that no walls could be seen…one unnerving thing was that the doorway they just emerged from wasn’t set in a wall either. It just seemed to ‘be’ there in the middle of the infinite room. Large obsidian pillars stretched to sky, for no ceiling was visible; and the odd purple light was more black than violet…like a black light…but truly black, made the room just visible, though it seemed to be coming from no where. A greenish haze lurked high up, as if they were clouds instead of the usual ceiling. -----“Wasn’t this supposed to be the feast room? Wasn’t that part of the legend?” “I guess we brought attention to ourselves…I think this is the end of the journey.” Sure enough, in the great distance that stretched before them, stood a figure; and though it didn’t seem to be moving, it drew ever closer. Cloaked, with two bright blue specks of light glaring out from where its head should be; holding what looked like some kind of farm instrument, though it’s unearthly look would put it out of place at a farm. The boys took to whispering. “Here he comes.” -----“How do you know it’s a ‘he’?” “Do we really have to do that now?” -----“I was just asking.” Ever closer Death drifted towards them. What little dark light filled the room seemed to be sucked into form that approached. It was sucking everything out of the infinite room…it seemed that the rooms existence ceased directly behind him…dimming and fading as though it was never there. The sickle he was carrying seemed to cut the air as he approached; the affect was unreal…the atmosphere cut in half just past the blade, leaving a wedge of vacuum that disappeared into the ‘un-existence’ that followed Death. Raising an arm under the cloak, showing the tip of a boney finger, he pointed to the two boys. THE END…?
