Description
Siena, Piazza del Campo.
Photographed millions of times, but I couldn't resist (as a simple Dutch tourist). A fantastic square in the awesome historic centre of this town in Tuscany.
Picture is taken on July 6th, 4 days after the 'Palio di Siena', the most famous Palio (horse race) in Italy. This event is held twice each year, July 2 and August 16. The race was won by the Contrada (town district) of the Oca (the goose).
