Hello all!!
I snuck away carefully, from my family of 5. THen hiked out on a narrow white rock ledge with a 300 foot drop (in 4 inch high heels- dont ask me why i had them on ) to get this one ...hehe... got worried at one point as a slid down some dirt.
I didn't bring my bigger cam though ( wanted it in my pocket for balance _ so this was taken with my nikon 7900 pc) the visabilty was only at 60- 70 percent but I tried to capture a glimpse of it...
HAd to hike a bit so was hoping to frame it with the pines before it got too dark - here the sun it just hitting the tops of the canyon peaks and setting it gently on fire with it's warm kiss...

Splendid to lay down sun on the side little known of the Large Canyon, initiating a marvellous voyage of daydream, where the abolished height and distances, make it possible to jump of one peak to the other without danger! Paradisiac and envoûtant at the same time !!! SUPERB !!!

You weren't wearing at least athletic shoes like Nikes or New Balance? And at the rim of the Grand Canyon, a thousand mile deep hole? And I thought I was adventurous. Lucky you made it through that harrowing experience without serious consequences. Anyway, magnificent late afternoon colors and silhouetting in this capture of nature doing its thing.

Wow - gorgeous shot! And in 4-inch heels! I visited the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago on our trip to Calif - it was SPECTACULAR. I got a bunch of pics, too, but nothing this good. Probably 'cause I was wearing tennis shoes.:o) CC

Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going there in october so I can hopefully get some sunrise /sunset shots. I think my wife has us booked at the south rim....should I bring my high heels or hiking shoes???? lol Excellent shot Kimmers.
