I have three great hobbies, or better passions: 3D art, playing and walking with my dog and riding my motorcycles.
Around 2000 I started out with Bryce mostly using it for creating backgrounds for photodesigns. With Poser I started by pure coincidence. A free version of Poser 3 was available for download at AOL and so the whole thing started: Getting upgrades, adding on to content and trying, reading tutorials, trying, reading .... So finally I thought my work is good enough to be posted in galleries and I hope you enjoy at least some of my pictures. If I am not naming any favourite artists or merchants, that is not because I am ignorant to others' creative work, but there are too many to be named and I would feel guilty towards the still unmentioned.
Have a nice day and happy rendering

beautiful classic composition:) A suggestion? Perhaps increase the anti aliasing settings to help the rigging of the boat come out clearer.

Regarding foam, if you have V6I then you can make use of the material layers for producing it. Edit the water material in the advanced material editor, add a layer and in the folder called "Material layers". There's a foam material there. Another good tut for foam is here: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2163669 and another here: http://paroge.com/vde/tutorial/default.htm Regarding your image, it looks really nice. I particularly like the water. Three things: a) judging by the foam around the ship, it seems to be moving but its sails are folded, which is strange; b) you probably rendered this in global ambience and that makes the shadow areas a bit flat (like in the left of the image). Maybe you want to try other models, like GI or even GR and play around with the light balance and skydome lightting gain. In these kind of images, it can make a big difference. c) You used the standard atmosphere "spectral sunset". For usual Vue'ers, such as me, the standard atmospheres are imediately recognizable. You may want to make some changes to the standard atmospheres, after loading them, to add some variation. Sorry, long post!... :-)

I like the sunset, although maybe the shore line shelves too steeply. Moving ships without sails? Must be magic! An alternative to the 'full ahead' sunset is moving the sun off to an angle but still visible. It changes all the shadow directions but can be quite nice, Even a wee layer of fog about the ship could come in handy too. Regards, John.
