Description

According to the Testaments of Dao, in the Holy Book of Balaam, the Madjulla is to be a destroyer and creator. She is said to 'have the colors of the rainbow bound in her skin' and carry a scythe in her left hand to reap the souls of the wicked. She is supposed to 'have command of the great dragons to destroy the world as it is, so that the future world may then come forth'. Her right hand holds up the Sword of Salvation, 'that would slice open the belly of heaven and rain lightning upon the wicked'. It is said to be forged from the bones of demons and can smite any wizard or witch without harm to the wielder. It was supposed to made in the forge of heaven. The descriptions of the sword and scythe are thought to be added apocryphally. Dubbed the 'Angel of the Apocalpse' by some, she is supposed to destroy the world after seven days of fire and plagues that would sweep the world and test both the wicked and holy left. She then would pick the holiest of men and give birth to a god in human form who would bring about the new world. The eagle is her sacred bird and she wears an eagle head-dress to represent her keen vision, and merciless demeanor. She also represents the total victory of the just over the wicked, sort of like a Balaamese version of Nike, the Greek goddess. Here is a Wallpaper of the Madjulla statue done in Poser 6, with all the 'mystic drama' of another world's religion and beliefs epitomised in it. I wasn't going to show it, except as an image on something else, but it looked so cool! I had to post as a wallpaper. Also it gave me an out-of-story background oppourtunity to fill in some blanks in the Toxic story, too.

RE: My Comment-ACK ACKACKACK, ACK ACK, ACKACKACKACK Having just gotten a missive from the artist thinking this, and the comment on the other picture were a BS comment, I can only say in my defense that I was making a reference to the movie "MARS ATTACKS". For those that saw the movie you will remember that when the Martians spoke all they said was Ack, or repetitions of the same word over and over, Ack AckAck, AckAckAck, Ack Ack. I apologise if I offended people, I was trying to be humorous. See ya in the funny papers

Instead of a bump map, maybe you could use displacement. The border of the head and tentacles seem too smooth. Maybe the eyes could be made more menacing, maybe just slanting the outer corners up a bit. As they are, they seem kind of sleepy. The union between the tentacles and the head seem too abrupt. Because all our references are the animals around us, the teeth dont look much like teeth, maybe because they're not white enough or there's no division between the individual teeth, or both. Maybe one good idea, still alien enough but also with a link to our own references, would be an odd number of teeth, being one central tooth bigger than the others. All the rest seems perfect to me. The tripod looks great!

Nice. I always like either one eye or three, myself. I would work on some controls for him too, lots of colored and semi-transparent spheres, that sort of thing. Keep up the good work and remember, have fun with it!

The Rendo comment was messed up August 13,2007 and many comments got shuffled around in a weird nonsense like way. SO if some of the comments make no sense--it's because they don't! LOLOLOL National random day or something.
