Description

I just noticed a couple of days ago that this would be my 200th image posted, so I started to think about what to do to mark this milestone! The biggest thing by far in my first 100 was the compete story of women pirates that was "Captain Mary Morgan" - if you are a more recent visitor to my gallery, I would urge you to have a look through this when you have a few spare moments, as it is by far the largest project I have done (over 40 pics, including pinups of the main charaters) and probably the one thing that I am most proud of in all my work here at Renderosity. It used many Vue backgrounds with the figures rendered in Poser5. It is also the one year anniversary of starting it - the first scene is back on page 10 of my gallery and is dated 11 August 2006. The second 100 images have been more of a mixed bag, but if there is a common theme it is my experimenting with P7 and Vue to render more realistic images, particularly using Global Illumination, Ambient Occlusion, etc. So I thought it would be a nice idea to maybe render a "Mary Morgan" picture in Vue for greater realism, and this is the result - I hope for some of you it is like greeting an old friend! I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me with your comments, votes and kindness - I appreciate it all more than I can say. Thanks for stopping by - please do leave your feedback, as it is through this that we all grow and develop! Have a great week, Phil

My first look at your work and I took a little time to look at your previous images. Really great work and cool story thread. Hate to sound cliche' but, I'd love to be her first mate. ;-)

Love the POV -- a great, surprising angle. I don't love the lens flare or blown out lighting from above. These kinds of scenes are very tricky lighting setups for CG-- you're trying to represent a scene where the foreground light is orders of magnitude darker than the background. . . You can do this OK on film sometimes, but film has a much greater dMax

Well Phil, it IS greeting an old friend. Captain Mary was the one that turned my eyes towards your gallery first. Almost one year ago. I'm glad to see her again, happy, in bright colors and abord a ship. Fabulous retrospective render!
