Description
One of the most popular and historical landmarks in Texas is the Alamo. Once a Spanish mission, it served as the fortress where the likes of William Travis, Davie Crocket and Jim Bowie made their final stand against General Santa Anna's Army in the 1836. This battle, which became one of the pivotal events of the Texas Revolution, lasted for 13 days when the Alamo fell to Mexican Army and all of its defenders were killed. "Remember the Alamo" became the battle cry of the Texas Revolution and came to symbolize courage against unbeatable odds and the willingness to sacrifice ones life for what one believes in.
As I passed the Alamo one evening I was struck by its quiet beauty. As the sun began to set and the city's lights came on, the old mission seemed to glow. I snapped the photo and captured the peace and warmth of this landmark against the Texas sky. Enjoy.

A saintly place and it holds the biggest spot in my heart when I think of "home." I recently went back for a visit and renewed my relationship with this wonderful place filled with so many stories and so much history. Great capture of a very special place.

The building certainly shows character and what a fantastic event to keep alive for the generations to come. The light/shadow is great.
