"The moment we walked in, we knew it was the oasis we had been looking for." ~ Pete Lawrence
A quiet spot at the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, FL. I'd like to dedicate this photo to our fellow Renderosity members living in Hawaii. Hurricane Flossie is bearing down on them and to make matters worse, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit the big Island last night. So Punaguy, Sharky, thevolunteer, and our other friends there, stay safe and I hope things soon return to the type of calm pictured above. A few of you have commented on my infrared images and I guess it is not too clear how I get them. In short, I am shooting with a modified camera that captures mostly the infrared spectrum of light. I say mostly because this specific camera also lets a slight bit of "normal" light reach the sensor, which is how I get a "false color" scheme. When I download it on my computer, the colors are actually reversed so I swap the red and blue color channels to get blue skies instead of red. No layering or other special manipulations are done. EXIF data was left intact on this one. ------

Fab work as always Kort, this IR really makes these images have a unique look and feel to them....of course the subject matter helps a whole lot as in this image...awesome work Bra!! Thanks for the shout out, were just playing the waiting game as of this writing and hoping the storm keeps on it's present path to miss our island....right now it's stalled off the coast and were not sure where it wants to go....keep your fingers crossed, and big Mahalo's for the dedi!! There's something about this image that hits me in a way the other ones haven't. ??? Totally cool stuff! I love this.

The IR photograph has a very pre-historic quality to it as I feel I might encounter the creature from the lagoon at any moment. Thank you for sharing. egmont

Palm trees and IR seem to go hand-in-hand! Well done! Love the details in the leaves!

Beautiful! Seeing the world in a totally different light shows us things our brains don't fully process normally. Thanks for including the info about the camera and your process ... I was wondering why the sky remained blue in your photos.

Please allow me to add my good wishes to the Hawaiian fellows as well. Batten down and hang on, I'll say a prayer for you all.
