Oh well, it is plain to see that this is a galactic washing machine. (inspired by 'A Sunbeam's' comment) Dust and dirt gathers among the stars and planets as well, and just like our atmosphere produces a washing machine effect by causing wet weather to cleanse the earth, so does this machine cleanse our galaxies!
