Description

Not my mother but it's what I made. My good friends mother died on Saturday in a horrible motorcycle accident. She is 21. Her sisters are 19 and 23. The oldest with a baby on the way. My friends wedding was going to be the 25th of this month. Her father is still in the hospital and not quite out of the woods. Any prayers (regardless of faith) are appreciated. "Rock Me to Sleep, Mother" (1861) (Ballad) Words by Florence Percy (1860) Music by John Hill Hewitt, 1801-1890 [also set to music (1861) by George Frederick Root, 1820-1895] 1. Backward, turn backward, O Time, in your flight, Make me a child again just for tonight; Mother, come back from the echoless shore, Take me again to your heart as of yore. Kiss from my forehead the furrows of care, Smooth the few silver threads out of my hair; Over my slumbers your loving watch keep, Rock me to sleep, mother, rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep; Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. 2. Backward, flow backward, O sad tide of years, I am so weary of toils and of tears-- Toils without recompence--tears all in vain-- Take them, and give me my childhood again. I have grown weary of dust and decay, Weary of flinging my soul-wealth away-- Weary of sowing for others to reap-- Rock me to sleep, mother--rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep-- Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. 3. Tired of the hollow, the base, the untrue, Mother, oh! mother, my heart calls for you. Many a summer the grass has grown green, Blossomed and faded, our faces between-- Yet with strong yearning and passionate pain, Long I to-night for your presence again; Come from the silence so long and so deep-- Rock me to sleep, mother--rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep-- Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. 4. Over my faint heart, in the days that are flown, No love like thy mother-love, ever was shown-- No other worship abides and endures, Faithful, unselfish and patient like yours-- None like a mother can charm away pain, From the sick soul and the world-weary brain; Slumber's soft calm o're my heavy lids creep-- Rock me to sleep, mother--rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep-- Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. 5. Come, let you brown hair just lighted with gold, Fall on your shoulders again as of old-- Let it fall over my forehead to-night, Shading my faint eyes away from the light-- For, with its sunny-edged shadows once more, Haply will throng the sweet visions of yore; Lovingly, softly, its bright billows weep-- Rock me to sleep, mother--rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep-- Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. 6. Mother, dear mother, the years have been long, Since I last hushed to your lullaby song; Since then, and unto my soul it shall seem, Womanhood's years have been but a dream; Clasped to thy arms in a loving embrace, With thy light lashes just sweeping my face, Never hereafter to wake or to weep-- Rock me to sleep, mother--rock me to sleep. Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep-- Rock me, rock me, rock me to sleep. www.brushes.obsidiandawn.com, Flexy Hair -Daz3d - OutofTouch (my texture) Nanette/Catalina Dark Moods D&M (ThankYou) Candles D&M Bench D&M (drastically changed) Various Primitives Cross by - http://Francemi.net Plants by - Maria Pillars by-JoeKurz (aka Corintho) Candles by Daz3D Coffin -JoeKurz (aka Corintho) Alter-JoeKurz (aka Corintho) MFD by Daz3d (I believe Anton also helped to design this though they no longer give him credit, I will) V4 Normally I don't credit purchased from vendors but in this case I want to Thank everyone who helped me get this image out.

So Sorry J, Please convey my sympathy to the family. It is so hard to come to terms with a sudden loss. I hope they, and you alongside them, will manage to combine the memory of the mother with their unfolding future. Very emotional tribute.

Very sad scene but beautifully done. Traffic accidents are so sudden aren't they and affect a lot of people. My thoughts are with you.
