Description

Joshua Tree National Park, Cholla Cactus Garden In a distinct area in the Joshua Tree National park you can find an unique collection of the Cholla Cactus. This area, without any Joshua tree, is called the Cholla Cactus Garden. Quote Along with every other living plant or tree in the park, this garden is totally natural. The rare combination of soil composition, altitude, and dry environment allows these cactus to grow naturally. If you happen to visit, be extremely careful not to accidentally walk into the needle-sharp bristles. Not only will you damage the cactus, but you will find yourself pulling dozens of needles out of your skin -- like I was doing. Bring a pair of tweezers just in case you find a few dozen needles in your ankle. You'll need it. Unquote Uhhhh, Uhhhhhhh I had a few bristles in my hand and close to my ……… I sat-down to make a photo and that was not really smart LOL!! Have a very nice evening Henk

Teddy Bear cactus or jumping cactus. That stuff is so pretty but deadly. Walk a wide path around this stuff because its not called jumping cactus for nothing. :-) A very nice shot of this cactus and good advice to go with it.
