Description

I got to the lake I was going. It a state park so they had trails. I walk down one and saw this and many more shots I took. Was eaten alive so I left that trail. I shot this at the golden hours and thinking there not much light get into these woods here in Louiana. It so thick with overhead and thick too with underbrush I may have to go with the sun is high noon so the light may get thought more. I do not know. just have to try. thanks for looking and comments Oh I donot know the name of the state park lake need a boat to see the real wonders of the wilds of nature here

You are much braver than I am!! It looks quite scary down there with the subdued lighting but such a fascinating place too. So much detail to let the eyes wander through and the light cast down in the middle gives so much depth. Great shot. xx

You are braver than I too Jock!! It does look kinda spooky. Always good to shot in the golden hours. I like this forest a lot, it really is a wild place. Beautiful plants on the floor of the forest.. Take care of you, please :-) Hugs. Di.

I love the palmettos and sild trumpet vines hanging from the trees. The tropical mood is ripe. I can only imagine the number of mosquitoes, snakes and other things that go bump in the dark are out there. Do you have the local panthers? I guess they also call them cougars in some places but back home in the Big Thicket we always called them panthers... Great shot. Makes me homesick.

.....this is a good reportage photo of what you saw in front of you - but not particularily distinctive outside of that function.

I love those palmettos I think I would be using one to hit the mosquitos of with lol. It looks like the sun is trying to break through all that growth. Cool place and capture Jock.

Oh wow! A scene right out of a KING KONG movie! Where are the pterodactyls and monstrous snakes? Damn the mosquitoes, full speed ahead! This is a wondrous photo, Jock, with lovely lighting and absolutely lush with foliage. And you exhibited extreme bravery in setting foot in that beautiful but hostile environment, my friend.

when I worked at Nicholl's state, I recall the mosquitoes too well.salt water variety that lives year round and gets huge and are terribly aggressive.I dreaded walking from the college to my truck.I can imagine out in the woods like this, they must even be worse .beautiful trail and definitely a need for super duty off.you captured it very well

You did a great job of dealing with the lighting. All the details are visible and you can still get the sense of darkness from the thick layers. Great shot!

Very tranquil. The light is so warm and lively. Too bad about the bugs though.

This is one of my favorite landscapes from you. The misty atmosphere and nicely placed darks and lights work perfect.

Thanks for sharing this, Jock. It's a real pleasure to see this. There's nothing like this in Lake Havasu City. I really enjoy your outdoor photos.
