The warm sun at their backs was soothing on the skin. That, and the glorious view, kept reminding Delina of the fact that she was actually flying. Her perspective from behind Talon’s wings revealed the trees below just beginning to change color, with tiny splotches of browns, yellows and reds peppering the hills all around as summer came to an end and autumn once again took hold of the landscape. Clamping her legs together ever so slightly against the Gryphon’s muscular abdomen, Delina closed her eyes and slowly lifted her arms out to the sides. For a moment, she could actually feel the wind beginning to lift her body, and it seemed to whisper to her to let go and come fly with it. Had she not been strapped to the saddle at the waist for safety, she might have done so. Talon banked ever so slightly when a particularly strong gust hit them from the right, and Delina opened her eyes, the moment lost, but not forgotten. Over Talon’s right shoulder and a little below them, she saw Swiftwing. On the female Gryphon’s back, Grendolynn was just lowering her arms to her sides and opening her eyes. As though sensing the girl’s gaze, she looked over her shoulder and smiled at her, “Always have loved flying,” she said. ------------------------------------------------- One more teaser from my Dragon Saga story.
