Description
I made the room and bed a while back, but got the idea to texture the bedspread, using a photograph of one of my great-grandmother's quilts, probably made in the 40s. I went ahead and made this to remember her, based on distant childhood memories.
Painted the clothes and the wall is painted intentionally streaked.

The simplicity of the picture reminds me a bit of Van Gough's "Room at Arles" picture (bed, chair, window elements). This is, of course, quite bit more subdued in coloring, but what you've done is very appropriate to creating a mood of tranquility and peacefulness. (Am I being redundant here? Grin.) I particuliarly like the blue oriental rug and chair. However, what I like best is the subject or action of the render; it reminds me of my mother-in-law and her three-legged black cat, Telly (He had to have his right front leg amputated when he was young). They are great company for each other and I'm pretty sure have a lot of conversations each day. An especially pleasing render for me, Dave.

Beyong your very special and personal technique, you always have the talent to catch and show the spirit of things and people, no matter what is the subject of the image (funny, romantic, landscape or any). You have done it specially in this beautiful picture. It is fantastic.

DLG - Fantastic render Dave! It really captures the relationship that so many people share with their companion animals. I've seen this room in one of your other renders I think, and I love the changes you have made here. The quilt texture looks wonderful! I love this!

DLG~ Dave this does evoke emotion as I look at this, tears are in my eyes. There is a sad quality to this and very touching. To me it speaks of loneness and yet a comfort of a loved pet. I especially like the posing of her hand on the foot board of the bed.
