This is so hard for me
to see you this way
so humbled, so taught
your own tailored lesson
trimmed down to how
you now bow your head
I begged you.
That's what makes this now
so sweet for me, and so
sickening, jeweled desert
garbage.
But I'll take you back
anyway.
If a higher thing comes from
all my suffering for you
a single thought of peace,
contentment, or happiness
in your private moments
musing on what *this* is
my life then has a value
beyond what I can understand.
You didn't have to do that.
I can see you know that.
