What happened next was a blur of battle that though, taking more than an hour, was over in seconds. The first boy mumbled something inaudible and a translucent silver orb appeared around the two. Deaths cupped hand clenched and giant bonelike impressions appeared to grasp the boys protective orb. The second boy reached in his pack and pulled out a small stone and threw it at death. Once it passed through the orb it expanded to the size of a rather large boulder and, with some encouragement from his wand, flew right at Death. Feet before it hit a bright blue sliver of light cut through the boulder and flew straight between the two boys…the protective orb shattered around them. Thinking quickly, the second boy pointed his wand and muttered something and a golden translucent wall expanded out in front of them. Once again, a blue streak lashed out from Death and struck the wall…but did nothing. -----“Nice one!” “Yeah, but I don’t think it’ll hold long.” Death jabbed the end of the scythe to the ground and three wispy black clouds flowed up from the floor and around the wall…throttling themselves at the boys. “Shit…wraiths!” The second boy pulled out a small bottle from his side pack, pulled the stopper and poured some of the clear liquid in his mouth…the wraiths came speeding ever closer… “What do you think you’re doing?!” The first boy held up his wand…placing it about an inch in front of his face, he waited. Within seconds the wraiths were within feet of the two boys. The first boy sprayed the liquid out…and once crossing the wand tip, ignited, spraying flame engulfing the three wraiths. With a shriek, the wraiths burst into flames and exploded into nothingness within inches of the boys. -----“And you wonder why I get vodka blessed instead of regular water.” “I’ll never question you again.” Just then, Death reached back and feigned a punch…the golden wall shattered like weak glass. “If we ever make it out of this.” Just then, another blue streak cut through the middle of the boys…the first one leapt back and yelled…looking over, laying on the ground were two fingers and half a wand…
