Description

Almost 2.5 million years from now, the ancient machine ships of mankind arrive in the Andromeda galaxy. Containing only info stores of the human genome, they rebuild mankind, modifying only what is necessary for survival on the alien planet. Powered by orbital power stations, the city receives all of its power from space. After only a thousand years, civilization has spread to across planet. *** Attempted to make this picture as much Xfrog as possible. All models except the Zoe character and heads up display were modeled in Xfrog. Rendered in Bryce of course. Given my brute force approach to modelling, and Xfrog's unforgiving use of ram when you get complicated i brought my system to its knees again. 18 million polygons used 1.35gigs of ram total. Fortunately, it rendered fast, at 8 hours due to being careful not to add too many semi-transparent materials. *** Zoe character from the marketplace. Gel hair cut from Daz. Borg armor for V2 catsuit from TrueBQ in the free sections. (my skill at poser needs some significant improvement, luckily at that low resolution, able to hide at least some of my mistakes)

Whoa! Now this is mind boggling! The scope, POV and the complexity of this image remind me somewhat of "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. Epic scale render. Well done!
