Description
Good Lord!
I think my wife is going to divorce me. 3D modeling sucks up way too much time!
Anyway...
Here is an update for my USS Constitution model.
I have completed the captains gallery (bathroom?) that was a lot of fun and stated working on some of the rigging. I think the parts are called "traveler" and horses". I think... Please don't bother to correct me. My head is already way too full to try and sort out all the parts. And when I think just how much more I have to do, I feel like I might just throw up.
The rigging part is the worst so far, not because of making the parts but because of the complexity of getting them all to line up properly. I still don't see an easy way of doing this.
I was trying to do multiple parts in the vertex modeler but it bogged down my computer.
Next was the "Head Area" at the bow of the ship along with the "cats head" I think hat it's going all right so far.
The good news is I think I finally have Carrara's UV mapper figured out finally. I have done A LOT of experimenting over the last three months using other models such as my DR-1 and my BF-110. I never really understood how to work with shading domains.
I'll try and post a few more detial sections and screenshots tomorrow.
Gotta go, I hear the wife calling me.
Thanks for looking.

excellent work.

Great work? You are working in a BF 110 interesting. Nice to see that you are doing some 3D again. I am on my very old laptop so no 3D apps until I get a decent upgrade. (BTW I am back in the states again)

Very nice model! Keep at it, there are many female pirate pics being uploaded, I think there will be a demand for ships soon..!! Good job!

Though I have a doubt about the hull shader (I'm not sure that bricks help to float :), this is a fine piece of modelling work. Can't wait to see it finished.

Actually my research indicates that those"bricks" are actually copper plate. Quite accurate, until they get in salt water. At that point they turn green. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I built the Revell model of this in plastic about 55 years ago. My advice for the rigging is to put the hot point at one end of each run of a hawser, backhaul, sheet or ratline so it is easy to teeter it in two axes without constantly also repositioning it as happens with the default hotpoint at the center. Making blocks and tackles has been my joy recently with smaller sailing vessels. Your work on the copper bottom on this is most clever.
