Description
So those of you who know me realize that every year on my childrens birthday I make a new collage of them that shows them through the years.. here is Rhiana's.
Today Rhiana turns 5 (cry) and on Thursday she starts Kindergarten (cries some more) Rio, as she is known, is my *special* baby, thats not to say that all my children arent special but Rio will always be "my" baby. As you can see in some of the photos Rio required a bit of sugery after she was born as she was born with Hydrocephalus (more commonly known as water on the brain). We were aware of her condition during my pregnancy and were told by the specialist that we should abort as she would be severly mentally handicapped (how wrong they were..) but I digress.. Rio was born on a Tuesday and came home the following Monday.. surprising even the Dr.s (she has her mommas attitude.. hates hospitals..LOL) But during her stay I stayed with her 20 hours a day leaving only when the Dr.s made thier rounds and when the nurses forced me to leave to sleep.. and watching and worring about her has permentantly given her a soft spot in my heart..

Alright! Donuts! :D LOL. Seems like only yesterday you were posting her 4 yr old one Amy...man, time flies. I'd say I knew what you were feeling regarding kindergarten, but...well...I didn't/don't. LOL. I do intelectually, but it was Dana that felt like that with Christopher. Maybe it's a Mom thing, dunno. But know you're not alone in feeling it. Happy Birthday Rio!

Happy Birthday Rhiana! Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos with us. Our daughter is now 18 years old and we can not believe that she is now not a child anymore. Enjoy this time with your daughter every day! Childs are so wonderful!

its a beautiful collage to show the passing of time i to was born with water on the brain among other things that i still struggle with today . she is a fighter thats for sure. :o)

I think this is something that is very touching for all of us that have children - yes, it's a wonder that the small moving shadows on the monitor will go through this evolution and be the little one who found (all!) the doughnuts some years later. And Deane is right: She will play a leading role in her future life - her expression says it all!
