Description
Taken in August 2007. I visited the Old Cahokia Courthouse, here in Cahokia, IL, where I live. Lewis and Clark stayed here in Cahokia for a while before beginning their epic journey. They probably stood in this very room.
I liked this picture for several reasons. The angles were intriguing, and the light is all natural - no flash or ceiling lights. Only light coming in the window, much as it might have been back in the frontier days. The point of view was actually dictated by where I could find a stable surface (the back of an antique chair) on which to brace my camera.
This photo is "as is." Absolutely no post work. No contrast, sharpening, lightening... nothing. This is straight from the camera ... a glimpse back in time...
