Description

This is the same white house posted previously but taken across the valley, maybe four miles away give or take a little. There are two villages between me and the white house anyway. To travel to the white house from where the shot was taken would mean doing at least eight miles in a vehicle. The beauty of this, to me, is although I'm in a metropolitan borough of several towns and villages, you can only see a couple of buildings. Enjoy. Thanks for stopping for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you where ever you are.

Excellent shot!! It is a pity there so many pylons about to spoil the view. It would be interesting to have known the location.

I was standing near to Lobden Golf course, in Whitworth, Lancashire looking across to the White House, which is situated on the A58 just outside Littleborough, Lancashire. The A58 goes over the Pennines(the backbone of England) to Halifax, West Yorkshire. There are lots of jokes and sayings regarding Lancashire and Yorkshire, I will relate just one of them. Said by a Lancashire man " there's only one good thing comes out of Yorkshire; and that's the road into Lancashire." Here started the War of the Roses!
