Description

Years ago when Adam was a boy, I had Corel Draw 4 or was it 6? and after seeing Auntietk's ceramics I decided to have a doodle with the version I have now, trouble is with every new version it gets even larger and so many new features it takes ages to figure out, why they don't follow what Nokia does and have all things in the same place I don't know. I'm not artistic, have a problem with light and shade in so far as the direction of light and a terrible vision of what constitutes perspective. Inanimate objects I find are pretty easy my problem arises with the ones that breath, hands too big feet etc. In this, only the bowl is my work, the background, is stolen from a picture of me and its part of the Tee shirt I was wearing, the flower (Dahlia) was cut from a photo of a small dahlia bush. I'm interested in comments be as brutal as you like, and suggestions as to reflection etc. Apologies but my connection over the last cpl of days has been gross! Thanks for stopping by Dave

Damn, that wasn't years ago love, it was eonsssssssss... Lol Ok, you asked me to be brutally honest with this, and I said I will be. I also told you that I will only say what I see - I'm no where near qualified enough to CC or advise in any way, as you know! Lol... Soooooooo, here goes... I think the colour combination is amazing, the dark mottled blue/grey of the background, the lighter, brighter blue of the bowl, the yellow and then orange of the flower..... I think the reflections are brilliant, it's like the light is almost directly on top of the bowl, but not quite, ie, the reflections are larger at the top half than the lower. The reflection/light on the rim of the bowl gives it added depth, I honestly feel like I could put my hand in the bowl and pick the Dahlia out. Now I hope your head isn't swelling too much! Loves ya and thank you for posting this! xxXxx

The part that makes this work for me, is the reflection of the dahlia inside the bowl. You did a great job with this. All I know is, if I had manipulated this, I'd be quite satisfied with it. Is that brutal enough? LOL. -M :^)

Brut did you say Brut, splash it all about know what I mean. Oh sorry wrong advert, brutal, Oh I can be BRUTAL, its about 400% better than what I could have done. When it comes to art I have two left feet attached to me arms. Ah! but I knows what I likes an wot I dosen't and this one aint half bad as things go. Seriously it is very good as far as I'm concerned, I take my hat off to you young sir and salute you for a job well done. Great effort, keep it up. Out of ten, 9.9 thats for using a sweatshirt.

This is quite lovely and caught my eye in the thumbnail. The colors are ripe and the glassy look is great. Wonderful image and excellent postwork.

Ummm . . . I'm not only not qualified to do a CC on this, I'm not even qualified to know what you DID! This looks to me like a really good photograph of a bowl with a flower in it, sitting on an indigo background. But I'm thrilled (THRILLED, I tell you!) to have been an inspiration for whatever the heck it is you've been up to! :)

Beautifully done. I never had the time to get that proficient with photo editing. I'm still trial and error, and then it's "how do I do that again?" lol. Great work.

Very creative! (I don't know what Corel is...) I really like the color combination you have going here, and the reflection of the flower in the bowl makes it for me! I thought it was an actual photo of a flower in a bowl!
