Description
The blade cut off the neck of the skeleton.
The skull swirled in the air and the armature of bones fell on the ground. The dead was dead...
Good vs evil: an eternal source of inspiration.
It's an idea I had in my mind since a long time. I already wanted to make such a render but I didn't succeed the first time I tried. In fact, it was a lack of time and of real inspiration and the way I then imagined the scene was completely different.
I began with the skeleton because I really wanted to represent the neck bones exploding when hit by the sword blade. I posed and armed the skeleton in POSER, exported it as an obj file and imported it in another program where it was reworked to create the neck effect.
The scene was inspired to me by some movies whose special effects creator was Ray Harryhausen (Jason and the Argonauts for example; Jason is fighting the skeletons at a certain moment of the story). Yes, it was kitsh but I like those old movies!
The most difficult part was to find the pose for the right arm of V4. It took a while and I was about to give up when I could imagine how to pose it: at last after a few days of work...
For the character, I used a series of custom morphs modelled in Hexagon 2. There are 18 morphs. The face is thus completely original. I thought that the ELLA's textures (by KALEYA) were very nice and completely matched what I wanted: the tattos on the body and face. I will certainly post another render to show my work on the head. I'm very pleased with the result... :) In fact, she is the face of death for the skeleton.
The lighting is a volumetric lighting and it does add some depth to the scene. It does also simulate some foggy atmosphere. I needed such an atmosphere; otherwise, the effect on the neck would not have been visible.
The scene was built in POSER 7 and rendered in VUE 6 Pro Studio. A slight postwork was applied inside VUE 6 PS.
Thank you very much for your interest! :)
NOTE: the VIOLENCE tag is there because I was not sure... :)
