Description
This image has been gathering dust in the bowels of my harddrive for ages. Every so often I dust it off and alter it a little bit more. The last 4 days I spent tweeking the background, then today I used some filtering in the Gimp and the background all but vanished!! The spaceship however, turned out exactly how I wanted for this sci-fi big screen movie cartoon style image.
The derelict spaceship is a sci-fi tower from Planit3d (I think) textured to look very old and damaged.

Wow. Wonderful sense of mystery. I really like the stark lighting, space doesn't have many shades, just light or dark and this works very well that way. Nice work.

Well, the background is perfection! Your derelict is in a very quiet area of space, there are those sort of dead spots you know, where there's little or nothing, just darkness. And that's probably why this ship is a derelict, no one's found it because it's so out of the way! Awesome work on this one, and it turned out just the way it needed to be!!

Steve, this could certainly be straight out of a award winning Sci-Fi film! Amazing and effective lighting, textures, and dramatic mood via artistic use of contrast, dark, and the harsh lighting of real space!!! This baby is going straight to favorite now!

Excellent sci-fi scene Steve, Love the derelict ship (now that's thinking outside the box!!! or should I say tower in this case lol) the texturing on it is fantastic. The background and lighting are great also and as said already give this a real sence ofsome deep dark forgotten corner of the univers. Best wishes Steve
