Description
I had a lovely surprise when I found this beauty behind and almost hidden by the lavatera. I confess that I had forgotten I planted it there!
Well, I will have to move it to a more prominent location, but perhaps one of you clever folks knows lots about hollyhocks, and can tell me if they actually thrive on neglect!
Enjoy!

That's what I have noticed. When they are young they seem to need a good pampered start but once they get a half foot tall they seem to be on their own. I've seen them growing in a Phoenix front yard so that tells you they are hardy plants! This is beautiful. I planted mine this year but it will take until next year for them to be mature enough to bloom. I can't wait. I love hollyhocks.

A beautiful flower and perfectly composed capture. The details are perfect and this beauty certainly doesn't seem to object to the neglect you confess to! I would love to see your garden - you have so many wonderful blooms. Excellent. xx

Wowser! These look like triples! So fluffy and beautiful. I don't know much about hollyhocks, except that slugs love 'em, so I don't have any! (Did I tell you about the slug that was on my walkway the other morning? It must have been six or seven inches long. Yukka!)
