Description

Hi, This is a another piece for the KOH. It's kind of a work in progress. I just can't see the wood for the trees at the moment and figure out what is missing etc. I know the pelts look out of place and not to sure about the ground and possibly some of the hut and bits. But please tell me what you think needs improving, moving, dumping, adjusting etc. All the best and have a great WE. Most of the bits from here or RuntimeDNA, have a look they have great stores. Chris

That is one tough lookin' shaman! He might even kick the Hull's ass up and down the block! Cool use of background props and environment to create this complete scene- it looks very realistic and is also lit perfectly!

It's looking good so far. Maybe you could try adding some snow on the ground as well. You know...Spots of snow here and here. Allso some mist/steam/fog..You can never go wrong with fog. ;) It would look cool if it were morning..Sun rise. Maybe?

Wow, well, get the obvious good stuff out of the way first, Vue stands out so superior when it comes to textures and vegetation. The branchy clothing he's wearing looks amazing, uncomfortable but fully descriptive of what it is. The other details say he's not much into comfort anyway. His right arm band might be interpenetrating a little, or is it? The make-up looks really good but first suggestion would be regarding the rest of his skin, it looks too homogenous. If there were some fluctuation of color, first around the feet, not that they have to be dirty but should take on different hues due to pressure, pigment, scars and then maybe dirt. Reletively, I would repeat that for the rest of the skin, lighter and darker, mottled or clean in certain areas. Two details that got a little lost when I first viewed him was his horns and the shrunken head. I don't know where I got the rule but it says you have to make the silhouette of the character immensely clear so that the viewer knows all about the character in an instant. OK, I remember, it was costume design. That menacing horn on his club comes across as menacing because it really stands forward, not just in space but in color and the stains at the end say that it has been used to devasting effect. Combine that with the other stand out, his skull make-up and you've got a well defined character. My question would be do you want the other details like the horns and shrunken head to take a back seat and be more subtle or do you want them to stand out? You could have reasons for going either way. Overall, great looking character and setting. Good Luck and I hope we get to see more.

Very cool image. Great character. Overall very well done. AND only since you asked... my only issue is that right armband. Looks to be adjusted. Maybe something in the background on the left under the huts? Perhaps trees, bushes or more huts? What is KOH? Fantstic image Chris!!

I think it is a very good composition. The only thing that had me confused was the weapon. It took me a while to sort it out, and that the shruken head was hanging from it. Awesome looking charcater and background though. I think as was suggested, some additional spots of snow or mist would improve it I think.

The character is superb. I would add some fire, or some recently captured or dead prisoners, to give it even more of a dramatic look.

Hi Chris, well I've been going back and forth between the two versions and their both wonderful but ultimately my preference is for this one but it's purely subjective. What is the KOH?
