ANSWER. This is a bud on the 'Princess Flower', properly known as Tibouchina Urvilleana, or Glory bush. The flowers themselves are a royal purple up to 5 inches across.

Well the leaves look similar to that of the Pheasant Berry - Leycesteria Formosa and even the shape of the bud itself however, the Pheasant Berry droops down and is darker in colour and less "furry"!! So, in answer to your question..... I have no idea!!! But a very well composed capture of whatever this beauty is!! Hugs xx
