Description
I was attending an anual flea market in Mesopotamia, Ohio, Amish country.
The Amish do not like being photographed but their horses didn't mind.

Wonderful shot! I a fascinated for Amish also! Unhappily they dont like photos... But parking is GREAT!

To me this is like a symbol for how good different philosphies of life can go together. The horses and coaches here, the modern cars there - and no problems! And I have to confess that I wouldn't like to be photograhed either when I would wear my very special kind of clothes not for fun and entertainment but as my every-day wear.

When I lived in Cleveland as a child, I remember the Amish wagons that came down our street. A couple times they were just passing through and twice a month one would come through with fresh vegetables for sale. Such marvelous people and always interesting to see. I love this shot. Sort of a cross between old and new.

Zoren's suggestion is valid but I intended to show the contrast of the buggies and the modern day vehicles. Plus, I didn't like cropping off the rear wheel of the buggy to do it. I appreciated the suggestion.

Wonderful image. I'm with you on the crop. Having the juxtaposition of buggies and automobiles makes for interesting musings!
