Description

Another shot from the days trip with Chrissy and Vera we went to Bath Abbey after refusing to pay the rather high asking price of the Roman Baths and also it was getting late in the day.. So another time for that.. The Abbey itself was simply breathtaking, however it was one of the small chapels inside that made an impact by its simplicity and quiet tranquility a true sanctuary.. So this is for Chrissy who asked me to post this one..

Love the lighting in this and the general feel it gives the whole shot, but one rather major thing lets it down for me: It is not centred / straight :( Hope you guys had a great day out, count me in on the next time you decide to meet up in the "midlands" area (after oct 2nd tho ;))

Oh Danny, thank you for posting it and dedi'd to me too!! Firstly I just want to say that with regards to Rich's comment about it not being centred... having actually been there with you and seen it first hand, the only place to actually be able to stand and take this shot was by the doorway, which was to the right hand side however, if you look at the horizontal line of the alter, it is pretty straight to my eye - it seriously was such a tiny little chapel and having tried this shot myself and failing miserably, I think you have captured the true warmth and peacefulness that was there. The warm tones and the glow of the lighting are perfect and really sums up what it was like - I can honestly say that looking at this is like actually being back there. Thank you so much for posting it Danny and thank you again for a fantastic day out! xx

Beautiful, basically. I love the tiny candle burning on the simple table, a wonderful counterbalance to the splendour of the cross.

I love the ornate wood work in some churches. a former client of mine that has been deceased for a number of years created such wood work all over the Southern US from Calif to Florida.I felt so proud that he asked me to do carpentry on his home and painting
