Description

I am doing this to try to cheer myself up a bit so please excuse me. This is a 100% true story and I created the image from my memory as best I could. Float Trip: When my sister and I were little we spent a lot of time at my grandparents farm. During one visit we got the idea that we wanted to go floating on the big pond down the hill. Since we didn't have a boat we made do with the next best thing. We got one of the old, rusty stock tanks that they used to use to water or feed cattle in. The only problem was there were a few holes in the bottom but my sister and I didn't let that stop us as we took some roofing tar and small boards and attempted to patch it. We rolled the large metal tank down the hill, put it in the pond, and like two idiots climbed on in. I got a old pipe from the scrap pile and shoved us out into the pond. So there we are for a few minutes at least on top of the world. Floating in what seemed to us at that age as our own personal ocean. :) After less than 15 minutes I recall my sister screaming as she had spotted a stream of water spraying up from our poor patch job. At the time I was having the time of my life and didn't realize it. ( note: if you look in the distance you can see a tiny figure running toward us ) That figure was my Grandfather who was VERY mad at our stupid stunt and was trying to get to us before we drown. LOL Thank you for letting me share this story, I just needed to do something to clear my head a bit and hopefully bring a smile to someone else while doing it. Take care and please pray for my sis Veronica if you will. Thanks, Dave I'll post the credits later I promise, sorry

Dave, the rest said it all. I love it. Even the water coming into the boat and the bubbles around the pipe. Attention to detail is good. Living in New Jersey, we have a lot of places we can go boating, but I'll stick to other stupid stunts. If you ever need ideas from a guy that's done it, let me know... Did you know if you duct tape 5 soup can's together, place a tennis ball in one end and light the other with lighter fluid, you can make a cannon? Until the can's explode that is.. And I'm also sorry you're down. If you need a friend, I also shall offer my services. And please say hello to your sister and tell her she has lots of prayers. Gary

Well I'm glad you made it out okay, I suppose the lesson learned is to always wear a life jacket! On the bright side at least you were smart kids, thinking to use the tar patch. Today's kids would have just given up and went inside to play video games.

Oh boy, you guys were something else! Fabulous expression on the girl's face! Did your sister look as frantic? Om my, I'm just laughing so much! And even funnier was that you hadn't yet figured out NOT to do this stuff when Grandma wasn't around!! Oh, I know, you never figured on getting caught, and NEVER in a million years does it cross a kids mind that something could go wrong! You two had TWO things go wrong, LOL, the boat and Grandpa! I'm assuming the sister is Veronica, and that there's just the two of you, no other siblings. I can see why you are so close to each other. Such wonderful experiences the two of you had as children!
