Description

Nuclear Spaceship USS Savannah (5 views) This is my design for a long range manned mission to Jupiter with a crew of 6. The ship carries 2 Landers that will take a crew of 2 each on a landing mission to both Ganymede and Europa. The engines for the Savannah are design on the VASIMR principle (VARIABLE SPECIFIC IMPULSE MAGNETOPLASMA ROCKET). This is one of many purposed propulsion system that NASA is currently working. I’m quite sure that by the time something of this nature comes off the drawing board more advance system will be availably. These systems should be able to dramatically increase speed and cut down on travel time making travel through out our solar system practical. The model was created entirely in Bryce 6.1 over about a 3 months period. The model with out the Landers cradle in the 2 landing Bays weighs in at 62,178 objects and 4733960 polygons. The file size is at 167 Megs and growing. Each Lander weighs in at 45.5 Megs with 9076 objects and 1037172 polygons. All concepts and design of this ship are solely mine. If you would like to see a larger version of this picture just visit my website and click on the Savannah gallery. Thanks again for taking the time to view and comment on my work. Cheers, David

Very nice (with the usual great attention to detail) ! I like that you added the little astronauts out there for scale.

..it's been BamBam131 for, oh, at least the 6 years I been coming here. The only thing more amazing than the modeling, is that you've done it in Bryce (I've seen your wireframes...how you keep things straight is beyond me) keep up the good work.
