Good morning, all!
I found this incredible bloom yesterday, in a local nursery.
This is 'Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis', (Chinese Hibiscus).
The petals were thick, papery, and so wrinkled.
The whole flower was about 7-8 inches across, and the plant had been pruned as a 'standard'.
Amazing, huh?

No way. That's crazy! It must look like somebody stuck crepe paper flowers on a little tree. This is an awesome image! I'll be thinking about this one for a while!

I thought this was a rose until I read your comments. The petals are crape-like and the detail pops right out in your shot. How very interesting. I always learn something from the floral photogs on RR! Thanks for this lesson... :-)
