Description

I went to the hall that my images was hanging. It where plays and fine classic music is played. It where the upper class people go to. It a place that only a artist is invited to show they work. I can just hang two images at a time and it will hang there for 6 months and then I have to take them out and put in new ones. Hopeimg to sell. They told me no one selling right now. I meet one local stock broker and he told me he will not buy any local art. I was painting his office so I say nothing to him. I say to myself "I buy no stock from a local stock broker." There is a local artist here that got the Louisiana Duck Stamp this year or was it last year?. Guess the stock broker will not buy his work. Doing Duck Stamps images for the contest is a diff art than mine is. lol I off the subject sorry. Anyway I came into the hall and find my images I had up and I photo this one as I finded it up against the glass bricks. I then move it to the water place and took a photo there. I like them both and post it here for I thought the painted face among the other art work and how diff it looks. I just wonder what the rich thought as they saw this. I thought for sure it would sell for they have plays there like "Cats" and many others; it like a painted face for a play.. I need to go and see one play one day.

Your experiment is extremely interesting, because even if you often do not sell, you can expose a painting for 6 months, this for a maximum of 2 engravings at the same time. This system does not exist I think in France. When one is not famous, it is rather necessary to ask to hang tables in restaurants or cabarets. Stereotyped beautiful, and do I notice that your frameworks are worked out enough, not?

I think yours looks the best, IMHO...Most art snobs just stand around and critic work that they know nothing about. Keep plugging away,Jocko!

I love the way your style stands out. It has a fresh look to it. I don't see why you wouldn't sell something. I know a local artist who was commissioned to paint all the paintings for a local chain of very fashionable and high end restaurants (3 of them I think...maybe 5). He's been working on his paintings for a year or more now. I think he does 7 per restaurant. Anyway, I like your artwork!

Jocko you UV portrait made me 1st think I was looking at a LCD monitor showing you gallery picture here! Your interesting writeup explains things well and I also will not buy stock from that broker. Nice to see your work get displayed in a real artist's gallery and who knows who may someday walk and buy one of your masterpiece works, thus assuing their grandkids will be rich! Thanks for posting these photos!

Keep up the good fight my friend.. You will sell something I'm sure... I used to sit in a doorway in SanFrancisco and do ink drawings of wolves and tigers and other large predator type animals and I have found that I sell more stuff by 10000% over any inside venue. As a street artist I was making $200-$300 dollars a DAY outside.. I could do a wolf picture (my best sellers) in an average of 25 minutes in ink and within 45 minutes it would sell for 20 to 30 dollars. I would do this from 6 AM till midnight (18 hours a day 7 days a week) I made a killing but spent it as fast as I made it...bad habits are expensive.. even though I make a lot less money now I am glad those days are past... Anyway, good luck and don't let ANYONE tell you that you can't make it.. If I can anyone can..

Mmm...if I saw my art just leaning against a wall I would be having a word or two with the gallery owners and find out why they are not hanging on the wall or at least on a artists easel, no wonder nothing is selling if the display methods are so half assed ! Sorry about that Jock, but it does suck big time ! ~Cheers~ :o0

The wealthy have taunted me. They demand results. They want to sue over reverses that their wife suffered while playing with money. They send the police with cases they cannot solve. They hate technology. They want the easy days with mom and dad out on the lawn. They also are very genuine in their acceptance of security. They will put you up in their enclave somehow if you are central to the guidance of the moment.
