Description

Do you remember Robotech? I loved that show as a kid. I found these awesome models at Vanishing Point, and I had already modelled a YF-19 Veritech, and this is the end result. 6 Days in total with alot of postwork, which is unusual for me. Interesting note about this image, the camera is set to 5'6" off the ground, the mechs are scaled to there real-world equivilant size, so this is practically what is "would" look like if you were standing near these behemoths Image Stats: RayTrace ON; Shahows ON; Depth of Field ON; Depth Queue ON; Pixel Samples 15; Min Shading Rate 0.2; GI Sample Size 8; GI Number Samples 24 Render Time ~14 Hours Postwork Time ~ 6 Hours Postwork Done : Fixed Render bugs Scratches Dents Burns DOF correction Motion Blue Smoke Fire/Explosion Sky Building Detail Thankyou for looking! I hope you enjoy this

The Veritech looks awesome, and yeah I remember Robotech! Damn, your missles firing and the explosions are cool, plus the POV rocks.

I bought the whole series last month and worked my way through it all. Great stuff (well, there was far too much of the whole relationship thing in Macros - not to mention singing. But they did have the best bots!). Great pic, with really good composition - a real sense of the action in there. Nice to know I'm not the only one with a little nostalgia.

This is a bit of a different offering from the rest of your gallery, but the quality level is definitely all you. I don't know if you did the smoke in post or in-render, but it came out really cool. Great job on the textures, especially some of the finer details you added that most people would neglect (like the distressed textures), and the POV is both unusual and interesting.

Awsome job man, I think you did us big robot geeks proud lol. You really did take this image a long way from your first render to the end, definately something you should be proud of. Thanks for the memories! heh. Scott

Yes! Finally, more Robotech images! As mentioned, great POV (and nice weathering job!) on the Destroids in the foreground. I'd almost like to see contrails or evidence of jet exhaust on the VF-19s to go along with your missile trails. Hope you do a render with a closer view of the 19s sometime. Nice work.
