Hope that you have all had a good week. A capture of my niece (she is a sweet little monster) just after she had spotted the camera in use. Many thanks to you all for taking the time to view/comment on "The Usual Suspects" and my "One-Use Challenge" entry. Hope you have a good weekend.

From the time my son turned 10 until he was 26, every photo I ever took of him was tainted. Without fail he showed me his "special" finger. I'd give him a stout talk-to, threaten to saw his legs off and beat him over the head with them and I'd even offer a big bribe if he'd simply keep his finger "in the holster" just this once for the camera. But as soon as I was ready to click, he whipped it out with a big grin. It got to where I just gave up. Family shots sent to all the relatives always included this unique salute and after awhile teh grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. stopped commenting about how rude the boy was. I remember the first shot I took where he did not hoist his didget for the lens. I was so shocked. The entire family gathered around the table where I laid the photo and mumbled, pointed and gasped! We were so shocked at what we saw - such an unnatural pose for him! :-) This little niece may be preparing you for something similar. LOL

Great detail, lighting, hues and tones in this portrait of the little darlin'. After she's done hamming it up for the camera, place her on your lap and tell her all about the toils and travails in Britain during World War II.
