Description
I took many pictures of this guy, and many of those shots depicted the insect much better...but I chose to upload this one because it better reflects the moment. He was very cautious and reluctant to come out of the shadows....this instinct has probably kept him alive to this point.

Your reasoning for uploading this image rather than another one is a valuable lesson for me and maybe many others. The best shot is not always th best image and th best image is not always the best shot, lol. I personally think this is both a great shot and a great image. You managed to capture the hard reflective surface of his "shell", the translucence of his body, and all the amazing pits and colors as well as a very strong sense of his intense awareness of you. He is not just an object, he is a "presence". Well done indeed and thanks for sharing. Lee
