Description
I am still learning how to use shaders and lighting effectively, however I am impressed with what I did here with the small amount of skills I have. This is my best render yet, if anyone has any advice for using lighting and fog together please let me know.
Rendered in Daz3d - No postwork
Credits - Fog Tool Deluxe III, Lisa's Botanicals - Creepy Trees II, Tales of Adventure - Crystal Mage, Jenna, Aiko 3.0 Mega Bundle, and My Will power =)

Beatiful work. I have no critique. I learned that the levels (ctrl+l) and curves (ctrl+m) in photoshop has helped me tweak my lighting, contrast, and even colors to the way I want exactly-post render. Not that you need it here, but it may help you out one day.

Very nice! If you were looking to make the orb glow, the best trick I know of is to add a point light, and put it inside whatever it is you want to make glow, and, then, lower the intensity to whatever looks best to you. :) Also, adding a lighter color to the "ambience" setting in the surface panel might help a bit, too :)

Thanks for all the great comments and advice. @Jenx I actually have a point light in the orb however I was going for a slight glow on the character so I toned it down just enough to highlight the characters features with a faint blueish/purple glow, however I got a side effect of it looking white on her hand. I still do not fully understand the setting for the spheres settings but am learning with trial and error. This project actually started off with the lighting tutorial on Daz's site then I was playing around with the sphere and shader settings. I liked the look of the model so I tossed in a few scary trees in the back ground and added some (actually alot) fog. I was very happy with what turned out.

I rally like what you've done with the lighting here, it's very well done. I've always been a fan of darker lit images, they just seem to hold more mystery and drama. I like the colder tones in this as well. It's a great piece.
