I really like all the separate elements that were put into this piece, including the composition, the character, the spiders, lighting, right down to the giant spider sized door in the background. That said, there's something that makes this image look a little bland that puts it off for me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. If I may suggest, if you have access to photoshop or a comparable program, try increasing the colour saturation on this image, and perhaps a little higher contrast as well, you may be pleased with the results.
